Beadlock Glass Ceramic Coating

THE RAIN LEAVES BEFORE THE WIPERS GET THERE.

Beadlock Glass is a nano ceramic coating made specifically for glass. It cures into a hard, slick, completely clear barrier on the outside of your windows, and above about 40 mph the water stops needing wipers at all. It beads, then it's gone off the edge of the windshield.

That's a safety feature before it's a detailing one. Night driving in heavy rain, spray off a truck on the interstate, the moment a downpour starts and the wipers can't keep up: those are the situations where being able to see is worth more than anything else on the car.

The surface is also self-cleaning in normal use. Dirt and bug residue have far less to grip, so the glass stays clearer between washes and comes clean with less work when you do get to it.

Extremely detergent resistant, which is the part that decides whether a glass coating lasts. Washer fluid, car soap and everything else that runs across a windshield will strip a weaker product inside a month. This one holds up to it for 12 months.

No cure time. It's effective the moment you finish leveling it. Nothing to keep dry, nothing to wait out, and if you're doing customer cars the vehicle can go straight back.

What you get: a 30 ml bottle and an applicator pad. One coat is enough, and multiple coats are not required.

Prep matters more on glass than people expect.

Glass collects bonded fallout and mineral spotting that you can't feel with a fingertip but a coating absolutely will find. Anything still on the surface gets sealed under a hard clear layer, so you're looking at it for a year.

• Clay the glass with the Shine Supply Clay Mitt to pull the bonded contamination off.
• Polish out the spotting and etching with Glass Polish Plus. Hard water spots don't clean off, they have to be polished off.
• Clean it so the surface is genuinely bare before the coating goes down.

The cleaner the glass, the better it bonds and the better it performs. This is the step that decides whether you get twelve months or four.

Directions

1. Shake well.
2. Check the glass isn't hot to the touch. If it is, run cold water over it and dry it thoroughly. Work in the shade, early morning or late afternoon.
3. Apply a generous amount to your applicator.
4. Frame the edges of the glass first, then cross-hatch across the middle to spread it evenly.
5. Level off the excess until the glass is streak free and crystal clear. No dwell time, so go straight into leveling.
6. Repeat on the remaining exterior glass.

Use two towels for the leveling: one to take the bulk off and a second clean one to finish. On glass, a streak you can't see indoors is a streak you'll be looking through every time the sun is low.

If you get hazing, it almost certainly went on hot. Slick Back takes the haze off, and it won't remove the coating in the process. The coating stays and keeps working.

Keeping it. Clean coated glass with Sun Shine, which is ammonia free and won't work against the coating or your tint.
