Bug Off - Bug and Insect Remover

What's baked onto your bumper isn't dirt. When a bug hits at highway speed its insides rupture and mix, and the result is acidic. Leave it through one hot week and you're not washing bugs off anymore, you're looking at etching that takes polish to fix.

Bug Off dissolves the residue on contact so it releases with a wash mitt instead of a fingernail. Safe on paint, glass, aluminum, chrome, plastics and vinyl, which matters because bug strike doesn't respect panel gaps. It's all over the bumper, the grille, the mirrors and the windshield in one pass.

If you're anywhere in the Southeast, you already know the two weeks in spring and the two in early fall when love bugs turn a front end into a science experiment. That's the stretch where a bottle of this earns its keep.

Dilution Guide

Bug Off ships concentrated and must be diluted before use. Mix 8 oz. of Bug Off with 24 oz. of water to fill a 32 oz. spray bottle.

32 oz. or gallon? This is the biggest stretch in the lineup. One 32 oz. bottle mixes into a full gallon, taking $23.00 of concentrate down to $2.88 an ounce-for-ounce, and the gallon goes to $1.09, about 62% less again. In working bottles: the 32 oz. fills four 32 oz. spray bottles, the gallon fills sixteen.

Directions:

1. Rinse the vehicle first to knock off loose debris.
2. Spray diluted Bug Off onto the affected areas: bumper, hood, grille, windshield and mirrors.
3. Let it dwell one to two minutes. Keep it wet and don't let it dry on the surface.
4. Soap over the treated area during your contact wash and agitate with a bug pad or wash mitt.
5. Rinse thoroughly.

Pro tip: work in the shade or on a cool panel. On hot paint the dwell time you need is exactly the dwell time you don't have, because it flashes off before the residue lets go.
