Carpet Cleaner

Carpet Cleaner works off a natural citrus solvent. It dissolves the ground-in oils and soil that are holding dirt down in the fiber, then rinses out clean and leaves nothing tacky behind.

That last part is what keeps a set of mats you cleaned in March from looking dark again by June. There's no film left in the fiber, so the dirt that gets tracked in afterward has nothing to stick to. The carpet you just cleaned isn't the first thing to look dirty again.

It also doesn't smell like a chemical. Citrus, and then nothing. That's not a small thing when the customer is getting into the car twenty minutes after you finish.

Use it on carpet, floor mats and upholstery. For the specific spots that need more than a general clean, that's Super Spot's job.

Dilution Guide

Carpet Cleaner is a concentrate. Ratios are parts water to one part Carpet Cleaner, and prices are per 16 oz. of ready-to-use product.

16 oz. or gallon? At the 4:1 general ratio, mixing takes $20.00 of concentrate down to $4.00 an ounce-for-ounce, and the gallon takes it to $0.98, about 76% less again. In working bottles: the 16 oz. fills two and a half 32 oz. sprayers, the gallon fills twenty. Carpets and mats are on nearly every interior job, so it earns its shelf space fast.

Directions:

1. Dilute to the ratio above. Start at 4:1 and only step up to 3:1 if the carpet needs it.
2. Spray directly onto the area you're cleaning.
3. Scrub it in with a carpet brush. This is the step people skip, and it's the one that does the work.
4. Let it activate for 3 to 5 minutes.
5. Towel up with a microfiber, or extract if you have a machine.

Pro tip: pull the mats out and do them on the ground, not in the footwell. You can put real pressure behind the brush, and you're not driving dirty water down into the padding where it sits and sours.
