Brake dust isn't dust. It's metal shaved off the rotor under heat and fired at the wheel face hard enough to embed in the finish, where it sits and corrodes. A rinse takes off what's loose. The particles that have worked their way into the clear coat stay put, and they keep rusting from the inside out. That's why a wheel can look clean in the bay and still read dull and slightly orange in daylight.

Cool Guy is an iron remover. It bonds chemically to those embedded particles and turns bright purple as it goes, so the contamination isn't a theory, it's something you can watch bleed out of the wheel. When it stops running purple, the wheel is actually decontaminated. No guessing.

It's acid free and pH balanced, which is what makes it safe on the finish as well as effective on the contamination. Cool Guy works chemically on the iron itself rather than corrosively on everything it touches, so you can run it on a ceramic coated wheel without cutting the coating's life short.

Directions:

1. Work one wheel at a time. Cool Guy needs to stay wet to keep working, and moving down the car means the first wheel dries before you get back to it.
2. Never spray a hot wheel. Let it cool first, or the product flashes off before the reaction finishes.
3. Spray the face, the barrel and the lug pockets. Cover it properly, because the parts you miss are the parts that stay contaminated.
4. Let it dwell and watch for the purple. That's the iron releasing.
5. Agitate with a wheel brush, get into the barrel, then rinse completely before moving on.

Pro tip: decontaminate before you coat. Sealing a wheel with iron still embedded in it locks the contamination under the coating, and the only way back out is stripping the coating off again.
