Ignition - High Speed Detail Spray

IT CLEANS AND PROTECTS IN THE SAME PASS.

Ignition is a ceramic-infused waterless wash and detail spray. It lifts light dust and grime off the paint and leaves SiO2 protection behind in the same wipe, so the car isn't just clean, it's slicker and beading better than it was before you started.

The surfactants and emulsifiers are doing the real work. Saturate a panel and they encapsulate the dust so it lifts away in the towel rather than dragging across the clear coat. That's the difference between a waterless wash and wiping a dry car, which is how paint gets marred.

Works on paint, glass, wheels and chrome. On a ceramic coated car it's a boost between washes, adding slickness and water behavior back. On an uncoated one it's standalone protection in its own right.

Know the limit, because this is where people get it wrong.

Ignition is built for light dust and light grime. That's it. Push it past that and you're moving grit around on paint with a towel.

• Light dust: Ignition on its own.
• Anything more than that: wash it properly. Hot Shot if the car is uncoated, Shift Soap if it's coated, PPF'd or wrapped. Come back with Ignition afterwards as the final wipe down.

Lower panels are the exception on almost every car. Rockers and the bottom of the doors carry heavier road film than the rest, so wash those rather than wiping them.

16 oz. or gallon? The gallon holds the same product as eight 16 oz. bottles. Eight of those would run $208. At $121 the gallon works out to $15.13 per 16 oz., about 42% less. Worth it if wipe downs are part of your routine rather than an occasional thing.

Directions

As a waterless wash

1. Shake well and check the car really is only lightly dusty.
2. Work from the top down. Spray Ignition directly onto one panel at a time.
3. Saturate the area properly. Skimping here is what causes marring, because the product needs to be wet enough to encapsulate the dirt before the towel touches it.
4. Wipe in straight lines with a clean plush microfiber. Never circles.
5. Flip to a clean side and buff to a streak-free finish.
6. When every side of the towel is used, switch to a fresh one. Keep separate towels for the lower sections.

As a final detail spray after a wash

1. Wash and dry the vehicle as normal.
2. Spray one or two sprays of Ignition onto a microfiber towel, not the panel.
3. Wipe one panel at a time.
4. Flip to a dry side and buff to a clean, glossy finish.

Pro tip: towel management is the whole game here. The towel is the only thing between the dirt and your clear coat, so use more towels than feels necessary and switch sides constantly. A saturated towel isn't cleaning any more, it's just carrying grit around the car.
