YOUR WHEELS & SUSPENSION TAKE A BEATING – SHIELD THEM WITH BEADLOCK.
What is it and how does it work?
BEADLOCK forms a durable, sacrificial barrier on your wheels and suspension components, protecting against harsh elements like brake dust, road grime, dirt, and UV rays.
At the core of BEADLOCK’s formula is SiO₂ (silicon dioxide), the same compound that gives glass its hardness and strength. But we’ve taken it a step further—infusing a proprietary blend of flexible polymers that allow the coating to flex with the surface. This unique chemistry creates a hardened, ultra-hydrophobic shield that outperforms waxes and sealants in both durability and protection, while still maintaining elasticity to absorb impact.
Engineered for easy application, BEADLOCK is specifically designed to withstand the extreme conditions faced by wheels and suspension systems—on the pavement or off the beaten path. It's safe for all finishes including raw metal, chrome, powder-coated, anodized, and painted surfaces.
So… how long does it last?
With proper care, BEADLOCK typically provides a year of solid protection. While other coatings may boast exaggerated multi-year claims, we prefer to keep it real. We’ve tested them—and they often fall short. That’s why we give you realistic expectations and clear guidance on maintenance.
Neglecting your wheels or using harsh cleaners will reduce the coating’s lifespan. However, if you maintain your wheels with Shift Soap, Cool Guy Wheel Cleaner (only when needed), and Punch-It Synergy Spray, you’ll maximize BEADLOCK’s performance and durability.
Environmental exposure also plays a role. If your wheels face tough winters and salted roads, reapplication in spring is recommended. For everyday road use with occasional rain and brake dust, an annual reapplication keeps you covered.
Can BEADLOCK be used on polished aluminum (e.g., American Force or Alcoa wheels)?
Absolutely. BEADLOCK is ideal for polished aluminum wheels. It enhances shine and clarity without hazing and reduces the frequency of polishing.
However, polished aluminum is more porous than standard wheel finishes, which slightly shortens BEADLOCK’s durability. We recommend applying it twice a year on these surfaces. For best results:
- Polish with Cloud9 Metal Polish
- Wipe down with Throw Back Cleanser
- Apply BEADLOCK
Important:
- Do not use Punch-It or Clutch silica sprays on polished aluminum—this can cause hazing.
- Avoid wheel cleaners.
- For maintenance, Shine Soap when doing a traditional wash.
Application Instructions:
- Clean the surface thoroughly with Throw Back Cleanser.
- Shake BEADLOCK well.
- Spray directly onto the surface or an applicator pad, Mini applicator pad or applicator sheet.
- Spread evenly using the applicator.
- Allow the product to rainbow (45–60 seconds), then remove with a clean microfiber towel.
- Flip or switch towels to ensure an even, streak-free finish.
Pro Tips:
- To prevent overspray on brake rotors or other sensitive areas, cover them with a towel during application.
- One 80 ml bottle treats approximately 3–4 sets of wheels, depending on size.
Ongoing Care:
After applying BEADLOCK, regular maintenance is key. If you're using the right products, like Detailers Products full suite of cleaners and protectants, you’ll keep your wheels looking fresh and protected for the long haul.
